The Gay Pride day, also known as LGBT Pride day, is celebrated on 28th of June every year. During these days Barcelona is filled up with music and colours, commemorating the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City, an important milestone in the LGBT social movements history.

During the week, there are lots of activities in town: music, dance, workshops, sport activities, live performances, exhibitions, movies and the famous open-air foam party, among other events. It is also a great opportunity to know the “Gaixample”: the LGBT neighbourhood in Barcelona, where many shops will be celebrating the event together.

The Gay Pride Barcelona is the biggest LGBT pride event in the Mediterranean area, a brilliant example of the defence of LGBT rights, which always emphasises its open and respectful culture.
